Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, provide information to site owners, and improve the user experience.
Similar technologies include local storage and session storage, which serve comparable purposes within your browser.
2. How Lumin Uses Cookies
Lumin uses a minimal set of cookies, primarily for authentication and essential platform functionality. We do not use cookies for advertising, behavioural tracking, or marketing.
3. Cookies We Use
3.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the platform to function. They cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality. No consent is required for strictly necessary cookies under applicable regulations.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| sb-*-auth-token | Supabase | Authentication session token that identifies your signed-in session | Session |
| sb-*-auth-token-code-verifier | Supabase | PKCE code verifier for secure OAuth flow | Session |
3.2 Functional Cookies
These cookies support non-essential but useful features. Lumin currently does not set any functional cookies beyond the strictly necessary ones listed above.
3.3 Analytics and Performance Cookies
Lumin does not use third-party analytics cookies (such as Google Analytics). Our error tracking service (Sentry) may store minimal local data to correlate error reports, but this does not involve cross-site tracking.
3.4 Advertising and Tracking Cookies
Lumin does not use any advertising or tracking cookies. We do not serve ads, participate in ad networks, or share cookie data with advertisers.
4. Third-Party Cookies
During the Google sign-in flow, Google may set its own cookies on your device. These are governed by Google’s Privacy Policy and are outside of Lumin’s control. We do not have access to or control over cookies set by Google during the OAuth authentication process.
5. Local Storage and Session Storage
In addition to cookies, Lumin may use your browser’s local storage or session storage for:
- Caching authentication state to reduce unnecessary network requests
- Storing UI preferences (e.g., sidebar state) for a smoother experience
This data remains on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
6. Managing Cookies
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View which cookies are stored on your device
- Delete individual or all cookies
- Block cookies from specific or all websites
- Set preferences for how cookies are handled (e.g., block third-party cookies)
Please note: If you block or delete strictly necessary cookies (the Supabase authentication cookies listed above), you will not be able to sign in to Lumin or use the platform.
For instructions on managing cookies in your browser, refer to your browser’s help documentation.
7. Do Not Track Signals
Lumin does not track users across third-party websites and does not respond to Do Not Track (DNT) browser signals, as there is no industry-standard interpretation for DNT. However, since we do not engage in cross-site tracking, the practical effect is the same regardless of your DNT setting.
8. Changes to This Policy
If we introduce new types of cookies (e.g., analytics), we will update this policy and, where required, obtain your consent before setting non-essential cookies. Material changes will be communicated through a notice on the platform.
