1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Lumin at lumin.guru and app.lumin.guru (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 16 years of age to use Lumin. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

2. Service Description

Lumin is a KP (Krishnamurti Paddhati) astrology platform that computes planetary positions, house cusps, sub-lord assignments, dasha timelines, and other astrological data based on your birth information. These calculations are processed by our computation engine and interpreted through an intelligent agent that generates natural-language readings.

Important: Astrological readings provided by Lumin are for informational and entertainment purposes only. They do not constitute professional advice of any kind, including but not limited to medical, financial, legal, or psychological advice. You should not make significant life decisions based solely on astrological interpretations. Always consult qualified professionals for such matters.

3. Account Registration

To use Lumin, you must sign in using Google authentication. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of your Google account credentials
• Providing accurate birth data for your profiles (inaccurate data will produce inaccurate results)
• All activity that occurs under your account

You may create multiple birth profiles under a single account. Each profile represents a different individual whose chart you wish to analyse. You are responsible for having appropriate consent to input another person’s birth data.

4. Early Access, Pricing, and Availability

Lumin is currently available free of charge during the early access period. During this period:

• Features may be added, modified, or removed without prior notice
• The Service may experience downtime, bugs, or interruptions
• There is no guarantee of uptime, availability, or continued access
• Usage limits may be introduced or adjusted at any time

We reserve the right to change the accessibility, pricing, and availability of the Service at any time.

This includes the right to introduce paid subscription tiers, modify free-tier limitations, or discontinue the Service entirely. We will provide reasonable notice before any material changes to pricing or access.

In the future, we plan to offer local-run packages that allow you to perform KP calculations on your own device. These packages will be governed by separate licence terms when available.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the platform
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without written permission
• Circumvent rate limits, authentication mechanisms, or other security measures
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or the servers and networks connected to it
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity
• Use the Service to generate content that is harmful, misleading, or infringes on the rights of others
• Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit Lumin’s output without permission

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

6. Intellectual Property

The Lumin platform, including its computation engine, algorithms, user interface, brand assets, and documentation, is the intellectual property of Lumin and is protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.

You retain ownership of the personal data you provide (birth profiles, messages). By using the Service, you grant Lumin a limited, non-exclusive licence to process this data solely for the purpose of delivering the Service to you.

Astrological interpretations generated by Lumin are provided for your personal use. You may share your readings, but you may not systematically reproduce or commercially redistribute them.

7. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Without limiting the foregoing:

• We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any astrological calculation or interpretation
• Astronomical algorithms (VSOP87, ELP2000) are implemented with sub-arc-second precision, but numerical methods have inherent limitations
• Generated interpretations reflect the KP system’s methodology and should be understood within that context
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Service

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, LUMIN SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Decisions made based on astrological readings
• Loss of data or service interruptions
• Unauthorised access to your account
• Errors in calculations or interpretations

Our total aggregate liability for all claims arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid to Lumin in the 12 months preceding the claim (which, during the free early access period, is zero).

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by applicable law.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lumin and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your misuse of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

Note: This indemnification clause may not be enforceable against consumers in certain jurisdictions, including the EU/EEA.

10. Termination

By you: You may stop using Lumin at any time and delete your account through the application. Upon deletion, your personal data will be permanently removed within 30 days as described in our Privacy Policy.

By us: We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms, engage in abusive behaviour, or for any other reason at our discretion. We will endeavour to provide notice where practicable.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections 6 (Intellectual Property), 7 (Disclaimers), 8 (Limitation of Liability), 9 (Indemnification), and 12 (Governing Law) survive termination.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through a notice on the platform or via email at least 30 days before they take effect.

Continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you should stop using the Service and delete your account.

12. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first.

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer. If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA/UK, you retain the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence.

13. Force Majeure

Lumin shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, acts of government, internet outages, power failures, or third-party service disruptions.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable.
